As much fun as I had watching Prometheus, I might be having even more fun going down the rabbit hole of Prometheus analysis and parody. A few highlights (which it should be obvious, you should not read if you haven’t seen Prometheus):
- Cavalorn has one of the most circulated analyses which, while I might not buy all of it, I find utterly fascinating. I also tend to like his attitude towards analysis itself, which comes out the more you click on his updates.
- Sci-fi author David J. Williams has a very cogent breakdown up at io9.
- What’s especially nice (and addictive) is that the creators themselves are speaking up. Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof are both talking explicitly about their intentions, if not their outright explanations.
- Finally, and probably best, is Cleolinda Jones’ high-larious scene-by-scene recap. Seriously, crying I’m laughing so hard.
